Rikuto’s First Train Set

So I bought myself Rikuto a train set. It’s not a patch on the beautiful Hornby railway set that my dad made me when I was a child, but Tomy’s Plarail is a lot safer, which is important when you buy a one-year-old boy a toy made for 3-year-olds! Plarail, or “Tomica World” as it’s known outside of Japan, is awesome. There’s a huge selection of trains from all over […]

Rikuto Plays Peekaboo

Rikuto loves hiding behind things then surprising us. Sometimes he hides behind the curtain, other times he ducks down behind the coffee table than pops his head up with a beaming smile… before he ducks out of view again. Here he is playing peekaboo with his towel. If you like, you can find me on Twitter at @nick_ramsay. I’d love to hear from you!

WordPress Pages and Babysitting Rikuto

What did I do today? I made a math worksheet about bus timetables, then I spent the rest of the day babysitting Rikuto while his mum was at work. We watched some Olympic volleyball, then played in the street on his little Thomas the Tank Engine train. Rikuto is suffering from diarrhea at the moment which means after holding him for a while, my arms smell of poo. What did […]

Rikuto’s First Birthday

It’s been a whole year since Mami was whisked off to hospital in an ambulance as Rikuto made a rather dramatic entrance into the world. Boy, they sure grow up fast! We took the little “Person of Continents” to our local shopping center to have a really cheapskate party in front of the birthday party goods in the toy section. He then went for a ride in a flashy, red […]

Rikuto at Nine Months Old

I haven’t posted a video of Rikuto since we went to the park to see cherry blossoms, and that was over a month ago! Since then, the little guy has passed the 9-months-old mark, and is a chunky 10 kilos! Here are some clips from the last few weeks: If you can’t view the video, you can watch it here on YouTube. I also have a playlist of Rikuto videos […]

Rikuto’s Diary April 12th 2008

Hello everybody. Daddy says I can write on his blog. He thinks that at my age (8 and a half months) I should learn to touch type. I think he’s wrong. My fingers are too short and chubby. I can do it with my toes, though. My first teeth I have two teeth now. One is a bit yellow. Mummy thinks I have an “enamel defect”. She keeps brushing it. […]

Rikuto at One Day Old

I previously posted a video of Rikuto at 3 weeks old, believing it was the earliest footage of our son that we had. However, the other day I was playing with my phone when I discovered, buried deep within its memory banks, a video I had taken just 24 hours after he was born! I guess I’m becoming really forgetful in my thirties. 😕 Here is never before seen footage […]
