When does human life begin? Is it at conception or when a baby is born? If you believe life starts when a baby is conceived then that makes me a father already, so happy Father’s Day to me!
In fact, Mami got me my first ever Father’s Day present which you can see me modeling in the photo.
On the subject of Father’s Day, I’d like to take his opportunity to thank my own dad for doing a fine job of raising me! I never really showed much appreciation, but I do have some wonderful memories of my childhood, such as riding around the garden on the back of his motorbike, building a go-kart for me, and camping in Belgium during a gale.
I’d also like to apologize for something which might surprise him. When I was a kid, we had a pond in the garden and I remember Dad finding deep footprints right on the edge of it. He assumed I was getting too close and kept warning me not to. What he didn’t know was that when he wasn’t around, I was actually jumping over the pond!!! I’m sure his worry stemmed from the fact that I didn’t know how to swim and had previously fallen into a different pond which he athletically rescued me from.
So from a new father to my own, happy Father’s Day!
