Baby in Progress – Rikuto at 35 weeks

The maternity clinicToday was the first day I was able to join Mami at the maternity clinic. Usually when she goes, I’m at work, and it has been very difficult to find a time that suits us both. So, with just over four weeks to go until the baby is due, I was quite excited about our little trip today.

The clinic is a very modern looking building with plants everywhere, a comfortable waiting room and soothing music playing in the background, and this is just as well because most of the time we were sitting around waiting. In all, we were there for over an hour and a half, and only spent five minutes with the doctor! Not to mention that it cost us over $70!

Mami waiting for the doctor...Nevertheless, the important thing is the health of little Rikuto and there are no problems whatsoever. Well, that’s not quite true. Mami is a little heavier than she should be at this stage of her pregnancy, and she has been advised to gain no more than 1kg in this final month. Apparently, if you are overweight, pregnancy can be quite painful… although I’m sure it is anyway!

Here is the latest scan of Rikuto, and this time the 4D picture has come out better than the usual ones I post on this blog. Can you see his face? Do you see that highly distinguished nose? He sure takes after his father!

A clear picture of Rikuto, with his Dad's nose!

If you like, you can find me on Twitter at @nick_ramsay. I'd love to hear from you!

  1. Congratulations, how wonderful! Children are the best thing we ever do. It’s amazing that they pick us to raise them – what trust! Now you get to enter the world of true sleep depravation, as you will never sleep restfully the rest of their lives. Sleep is over-rated, right?
    Hugs to you both,
    Catherine (Brian’s mom)
